On lattice actions for static quarks LPHA

چکیده
We introduce new discretizations of the action for static quarks. They achieve an exponential improvement (compared to the Eichten-Hill regularization) on the signal to noise ratio in static–light correlation functions. This is explicitly checked in a quenched simulation and it is understood quantitatively in terms of the self energy of a static quark and the lattice heavy quark potential at zero distance. We perform a set of scaling tests in the Schrödinger functional and find scaling violations in the O(a) improved theory to be rather small – for one observable significantly smaller than with the Eichten-Hill regularization. In addition we compute the improvement coefficients of the static light axial current up to O(g4 0) corrections and the corresponding renormalization constants non-perturbatively. The regularization dependent part of the renormalization of the b-quark mass in static approximation is also determined.

Non-perturbative renormalization of static-light four-fermion operators in quenched lattice QCD LPHA
We perform a non-perturbative study of the scale-dependent renormalization factors of a multiplicatively renormalizable basis of ∆B = 2 parity-odd four-fermion operators in quenched lattice QCD. Heavy quarks are treated in the static approximation with various lattice discretizations of the static action. Light quarks are described by nonperturbatively O(a) improved Wilson-type fermions. The re...
متن کاملRenormalization and O ( a ) - improvement of the static axial current LPHA
A systematic treatment of O(a)–improvement in lattice theories with static quarks is presented. The Schrödinger functional is discussed and a renormalization condition for the static axial current in the SF-scheme is introduced. Its relation to other schemes is computed to 1-loop order and the 2-loop anomalous dimension is derived. In finite volume renormalization schemes such as the SF-scheme,...
متن کاملNon-perturbative renormalization of the static vector current and its O(a)-improvement in quenched QCD LPHA
We carry out the renormalization and the Symanzik O(a)-improvement programme for the static vector current in quenched lattice QCD. The scale independent ratio of the renormalization constants of the static vector and axial currents is obtained non-perturbatively from an axial Ward identity with Wilson-type light quarks and various lattice discretizations of the static action. The improvement c...
متن کاملPerturbative Wilson loops with massive sea quarks on the lattice
We present O(g) calculations of both planar and non-planar Wilson loops for various actions in the presence of sea quarks. In particular, the plaquette, the static potential and the static self energy are calculated to this order for massive Wilson, Sheikholeslami-Wohlert and Kogut-Susskind fermions, including the mass and nf dependence. The results can be used to obtain αMS and mb(mb) from lat...
متن کاملPerturbative renormalization parameters for heavy quarks ∗
Formulation of the heavy quark on the lattice, such as NRQCD[1] or the Fermilab approach with the Wilson-like relativistic quarks[2], requires perturbative matching with the continuum theory. Since the quark mass in the lattice unit cannot be neglected for these theories, the perturbative calculation is much more involved and have not developed as that for the massless case. We report the curre...
